Elias Figueroa, is the legendary Chilean International, 3 Times South American Player of The Year and a member of the FIFA 100 Best Players of The Century. In 1975 'Don' Elias scored the winning goal for his club, Sport Club Internacional, to win the Brazilian Football Championship. At the very moment Figueroa scored this famous goal, a ray of light fell upon him from nowhere, as if it were delivered by a greater power. This goal was immediately identified as The Gol Iluminado, "The Illuminated Goal". It will forever be synonymous with "Don" Elias FIGUEROA. The sporting community has the power to advance humanity and to help ensure that all children everywhere have access to health care, education, protection and equality. The mission of FutbolMasters is to serve as a unique ambassadorial marketing property, to enhance the goodwill of the world’s most popular sport through its greatest star players, Goodwill Ambassadors to “The Beautiful Game”, with an objective to entertain, educate and preserve the history and imagery of the unique and legendary characters that have helped to perpetuate the world’s game. FutbolMasters will diligently work to improve social and economic conditions for the world’s youth and others, through our GOL ILUMINADO FOUNDATION and have created Players For Peace, Futebol Pela Paz, Futbol Por La Paz intiatives, events and activities in support of the United Nations Sport for Development and Peace. The mission of the GOL ILUMINADO FOUNDATION is to assist every child that we touch, to find their very own Gol Iluminado, an "Illuminated Goal" and a purposeful life.

OUR PLATFORMS

GOL ILUMINADO FOUNDATION is a non profit 501(c)(3) Corporation that will utilize the Players For Peace platform and our global PEACE 0921 movement to involve Celebrity Athletes and Musicians, to create Events and Activities that will generate awareness and support with an action to implement and maintain our "Education Through Sport" legacy programs with the United Nations Sport for Development and Peace in 4 locations, which are Delray Beach, Florida, Sauipe Village, Bahia-Brasil, Villa Alemana, Chile and Boone, North Carolina. We have created a strategic alliance with the governments of these 4 municipalities and will utilize Stadium and municipal facilities provided by these wonderful communities.

Figueroa Launches a New Program

Elias Figueroa along with Chile's Minister of Education, Ms. Yasna Provoste, launch the Escuelas de Futbol Elias Figueroa in Valparaiso, Chile. This is a program administered by the Gol Iluminado Foundation that will provide additional hours of Sport each week for all of the children in the Public School System of Valparaiso, Chile.

The Partido por la Paz - "Match For Peace" will take place on December 28, 2007 in Viña del Mar, Chile. Stay tuned for details on our Black-Tie Gala Event which will be hosted by the Viña Casino on December 27th in this beautiful seaside resort town on the Pacific Coast of Chile. The match will take place in the Vina Del Mar Stadium, Estadio Sausalito, which was host to the 1962 World Cup Finals.

One of the teams featured in the Partido por la Paz will be selected by the people of Chile through a weekly vote in the National Newspaper 'La Cuarta' and on their official website, www.lacuarta.cl every Monday, commencing on Monday, September 3^rd. Voting will conclude on Monday, December 17^th. The "Peoples Team" will be announced at a press conference on Friday, December 21^st. The Peoples Team will play against an All Star Team selected by SIFUP and FIFPro.

The Gol Iluminado Foundation will provide 3,000 tickets to underprivileged children in the area and FutbolMasters will provide a clinic for 500 children at risk. Participating players will make a visit to the Van Buren Hospital Children’s Center. Proceeds from the Event and Activities will assist to implement our GOL ILUMINADO "Legacy Project" in Villa Alemana, Chile.

The Partido por la Paz will be Nationally televised. We want to thank the City of Viña del Mar and Mr. Rudolfo Echeverria, President of Coca Cola - Chile for their generous sponsorship and support of this inaugural annual "Match For Peace".
